WASTED
2018
“..the end of work will not necessarily mean the end of meaning, because meaning is generated by imagining rather than by working." –from Yuval Noah Harari: The Meaning of Life in a World without Work
WASTED is a durational collective performance that looks at labour as a framework, an idea, a practice and a focus. The objective is to frame all actions into a general notion of work, questioning its implications and meanings from idiosyncratic, societal and material perspectives. WASTED asks how work life would be if we were to view it through the lense of sustainability and care?
WASTED works through constructing a society within society and by creating its own ecosystem through the actions within. This allows the working group to propose peculiar and joyful ways of looking for meaning in being alive.
WASTED premiered in Publics on Friday 21 Sep 2018.
